Sultan Palace

the official palace of the Yogyakarta Sultanate located in Yogyakarta City, Special Region of Yogyakarta. Founded by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwana I in 1755, this palace is the center of government and culture of Yogyakarta and holds a profound philosophy of life.

Water Castle

Located near the Kraton, this place is also known as the garden of the Sultan of Yogyakarta. Tamansari was originally built for various purposes, but now only a few buildings remain. Some of its original functions were as a place to rest, meditate, work, hide, and defend the Sultan's family. Currently, some of its buildings have become homes for local residents and only the mosque, resting and bathing places, and underground tunnels are accessible to tourists.

The most famous place in Tamansari is the bathing and resting place of the Sultan and his daughters called Umbul Pasiraman. Most tourists find this place interesting because it has a unique story behind its origin.

The Sultan loved hunting in his spare time and Umbul Pasiraman was designed to satisfy the Sultan's passion. Unlike Panggung Krapyak which was designed for hunting deer, Umbul Pasiraman (which means bathing place) was designed for the Princesses to bathe and for the Sultan to relax and 'hunt' for wives.

To catch the 'two-legged prey', it is said that the Sultan would throw a rose from a high tower to the south of the pool and the Princess who caught the rose would become his 'wife'. Usually, the one who would catch the rose was the Queen or his concubine.

Prambanan Temple

Explore the mesmerizing Loro Jonggrang, a pivotal segment of the Prambanan Temple compounds and immerse yourself in the ancient atmosphere.

The Prambanan Temple Complex is a remarkable architectural marvel that was constructed in the 9th century and it’s situated approximately 17 km from Yogyakarta. This marvelous complex is Indonesia’s most extensive Hindu temple site and was devoted to Trimurti, embodying God as the Creator (Brahma), Preserver (Vishnu), and Destroyer (Shiva).

After your enriching visit to Prambanan Temple, sit back and enjoy a smooth and hassle-free transfer from the temple grounds to your Yogyakarta accommodation.
